May 8th 2008?
This is a holiday in France, a day to remember the end of WWII and all the people who died for the freedom of their country. I was invited to Batz-sur-mer, a pretty town by the sea, where the church has been rebuilt right next to the old ruins of the one damaged by the bombs. It was raining, not the greatest weather to enjoy getting together with friends and neighbours, but the remembrance ceremony was not less felt for it.
After said ceremony, we went to have lunch at B’s place, an old country house he’s still finishing the renovations of. The view from his garden is just fantastic – the gloomy sky just gave the landscape some special feeling…
However, the sad weather was overbalanced by the laughs and interesting chats shared during the long meal – we started at around 13.00, finished around 17h, but didn’t leave until 19.30! You could tell we felt great, no one wanted to leave…
I can never thank B enough for the wonderful day I had…

Hey, good to see some pictures of you! Hope all is well. If I see all that marvellous food and you being surrounded by friends, it looks like you are doing well.
Have a great week,
Martin
