What I’m reading now

31st August 2009: “Magyk” by Angie Sage

It’s just the beginning, but I quite like this fantasy tale.

Sure, it’s not extremely original – at least so far – though that’s pretty difficult nowadays, when fantasy novels are ‘à la mode’… But hey, one can read it easily enough and get hooked by the story – I know I didn’t want to close it during my lunch break today!

However, I’m a tad annoyed by the use of bold font for some special words or enchantments… maybe to imitate J.K. Rowling’s latin-ish spells? Except these ones are not in a different language – I’m reading it in French though, so it could be some French version thing…

Anyway, I’ll let you know if I’m still gripped when I’m more into its 500 pages…
